Future Roadmap of Sodhi Sangat Sewa Sanstha Dal (SSSSD)

Sodhi Sangat Sewa Sanstha Dal (SSSSD), founded in 1987 by Sant Baba Baldev Singh Ji (Baba Kala Ji, Maqboolpura Wale) and presently guided by Sant Baba Satnam Singh Nikku Ji, has always worked for spiritual upliftment, social welfare, women empowerment, and community development. Guided by the eternal Sikh principle “Naam Japo – Kirat Karo – Vand Chhako” (Meditate, Earn Honestly, Share with Others), the organization has touched countless lives through seva, spiritual guidance, and sustainable projects.

As the NGO continues to expand, SSSSD has laid out a comprehensive future roadmap that blends spirituality with socio-economic empowerment. The focus is to provide sustainable livelihoods for women, ensuring they become financially independent and self-reliant, while also contributing to society. The roadmap is divided into three strategic stages that will directly empower more than 1,500 women every year through skill training, manufacturing, and employment opportunities.

Stage 1: Establishment of Silai Centre with 30 Seats

The first step in the roadmap focuses on skill-building for women. SSSSD will set up a Silai Centre with 30 seats, designed to train women in various aspects of stitching, tailoring, and garment-making.

  • Each year, around 500 women will undergo professional training at the centre.
  • The curriculum will include basic and advanced stitching techniques, garment designing, embroidery, and modern tailoring methods.
  • By the end of the training, women will be equipped to start their own tailoring businesses or join local garment manufacturing units.

This stage is crucial because it empowers women at the grassroots level, enabling them to become self-employed, self-dependent, and financially secure.

By giving them access to skill training, SSSSD ensures that women can break free from poverty cycles, support their families, and contribute to the local economy. It also promotes dignity of labor and inspires other women in the community to follow the same path.

Stage 2: Factory for Achar and Pickles (500 Tonne Annual Capacity)

Once the women acquire skills and confidence from the Silai Centre, the next step is to provide them with structured employment opportunities. SSSSD plans to establish a food processing factory with a capacity of 500 tonnes per year, focusing on the manufacturing of achar (pickles) and traditional food products.

This factory will become a hub of employment and entrepreneurship, empowering another 500 women every year.

  • The women will be trained in food processing, hygiene standards, packaging, and distribution.
  • The products will be marketed both in domestic and international markets, creating a revenue stream for the organization as well as for the women involved.
  • By connecting women to the food industry, SSSSD will also promote Indian traditional recipes and organic food practices.

This stage will not only provide financial stability to women but also boost rural entrepreneurship, local agriculture, and food-based industries. The factory will become a symbol of how spiritual organizations can combine seva with socio-economic empowerment.

Stage 3: Wax Candle Manufacturing Unit (500 Tonne Annual Capacity)

The third stage of the roadmap focuses on diversifying employment opportunities. SSSSD will establish a wax candle manufacturing unit with an annual production capacity of 500 tonnes. This unit is expected to empower another 500 women every year.

  • The women will receive training in candle-making techniques, mold designs, decorative candles, and large-scale production.
  • The candles will be marketed for domestic use, festivals, religious ceremonies, and international exports.
  • The unit will also promote eco-friendly candle-making practices, ensuring sustainability in production.

Candle manufacturing has a high demand both in India and abroad, which means that the women trained in this unit will have access to stable jobs as well as opportunities to start their own small-scale candle-making businesses.

Long-Term Vision of SSSSD

The three-stage roadmap of SSSSD is not just about providing jobs—it is about transforming lives. By empowering 1,500 women every year, the organization envisions creating a self-reliant ecosystem where women can:

  • Earn with dignity through their skills.
  • Support their families financially and socially.
  • Contribute to community development by becoming role models.
  • Live in harmony with Sikh spiritual principles of honesty, sharing, and service.

In the long term, these initiatives will also:

  • Reduce poverty in rural and semi-urban areas.
  • Encourage youth and women to move towards entrepreneurship rather than dependency.
  • Strengthen the local economy by promoting sustainable industries.
  • Connect spiritual seva with modern skill development and employment creation.

Global Outlook and Digital Expansion

SSSSD also aims to expand its digital presence. Through SSSSD.org and social media platforms, the NGO is already reaching lakhs of people across the globe with its videos, shorts, kirtan, and social welfare updates. Going forward, the digital channels will be used to:

  • Promote the products made by women in the Silai Centre and factories.
  • Attract global support and donations for expansion projects.
  • Inspire other NGOs and social groups to replicate the SSSSD model in their regions.

This digital expansion will ensure that the voice of seva and empowerment travels beyond Punjab, across India, and into the global community.

Conclusion

The future roadmap of Sodhi Sangat Sewa Sanstha Dal is a visionary plan that blends spirituality with sustainability, devotion with dignity, and seva with self-reliance. From the Silai Centre to large-scale factories in food processing and candle manufacturing, every stage is designed to empower women, generate employment, and uplift society.

By following the path of “Naam Japo – Kirat Karo – Vand Chhako”, SSSSD is setting an example of how an NGO rooted in faith can create a lasting social and economic impact. With determination, community support, and divine blessings, the roadmap promises to transform thousands of lives every year and carry forward the sacred mission of seva across the world.
